University Centre of the Westfjords is open to scholars and research students visiting the Westfjords. The staff at UW does not carry out research but each year, the master's students contribute to knowledge of marine and coastal studies with their master's theses.
Instructors in the master's programs are also well respected scholars from around the world and create a valuable connection between UW and their research area. Thus, the University Centre is connected to individual research projects, usually in partnership with research institutes in the region, or as a body of support to researchers.
