Iceland: Renewable Energy, Technology, and Resource Economics
World Learning SIT Study Abroad Program offers a course on Renewable Energy, Technology, and Resource Economics in Iceland.
Students spend time in the capital, Reykjavík, where they learn about Iceland´s energy policy from politicians, industry leaders, and social activists. In Akuryeri, in the north of Iceland, students study at the School for Renewable Energy Science with energy specialists, engineers, and geologists. The last part of the course is in Ísafjörður, at the University Centre of the Westfjords. Here students will apply energy principles that they have already learned elsewhere on a small town scale.
The University Centre has welcomed a new SIT group each summer since 2007 and is expecting a group in 2012.
