Marieke Burgers, Museumshöjskolen, direktör
Marieke Burgers er fædd í Hollandi. Hún hefur mastersmenntun í sögu,
safnafræðum og menningarmannfræði. Marieke hefur margra ára
starfsreynslu á sviði markaðsmála og stjórnunar í tengslum við söfn og
var m.a. yfirmaður kynningardeildar Fornminjasafnsins í Leiden,
yfirmaður kynningardeildar sjávarminjasafnsins í Rotterdam og
námsstjóri í Ríkisminjasafni um sögu kristindómsins í Utrecht. Þá hefur
Marieke einnig kennt markaðsfræði í Hollandi, Skandinavíu og í Litháen.
Marieke er forstöðumaður í Museumshöjskolen í Danmörku, sem
endurmenntar starfandi safnafólk.
Marieke Burgers hefur skrifað margar greinar um söfn og safnagerð,
markaðssetningu, þróun og stjórnun safna og skrifaði m.a. fyrstu bókina
um markaðssetningu safna í Danmörku sem út kom árið 2002. Í fyrirlestri
sínum í sumarskólanum á Hrafnseyri mun Mareike fjalla um
markaðssetningu safna.
Marieke Burgers has been an independent museum consultant and operated in Scandinavia and Northern Europe, a.o. as fund-raiser for the travelling exhibition of works by Edvard Munch, The Soul of Work which was on show in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Has executed several feasibility studies, PR campaigns, professional culture travels, visitor surveys, courses in marketing and PR. Has been interim manager and trouble-shooter for museums. Marieke Burgers has written many articles on museums, marketing, development and management. Has been teaching in marketing in Holland, Scandinavia and Lithuania. She has been a secretary for the ICOM Marketing and Public Relations Committee, is now member of ICOM/The International Committee for Training of Personnel. She published the first book on museum marketing in Denmark in 2002.
