Two Electives: Pollution and Environmental Assessment
This week a new three week module in the Coastal and Marine Management program began with two elective courses: Pollution in the Coastal and Marine Environment and Environmental Assessment (EEA and SEA). These are the last two courses before the Easter vacation. After the vacation only three modules are left until students begin work on their master's thesis.
Like last year the pollution course is taught by Dr. Hrönn Jörundsdóttir, a project manager at Matís - Icelandic Food and Biotech R&D, but we also welcome a new instructor in the course Dr. Helga Gunnlaugsdóttir, a Research Group Leader at Matís. The environmental assessment course is taught by Gunnar Páll Eydal, a planning and environmental consultant at Eik planning agency in Ísafjörður. Gunnar Páll has taught this course the past years but is now joined by Ólafur Árnason, a specialist in environmental impact assessments at EFLA Consulting Engineers.
