Last weekend the first teaching session of the Preparatory Program for University Entrance took place in Ísafjörður. The University Centre provides all teaching for distance learning students of the first semester in the Preparatory program at Reykjvík University. This cooperation between the two institutions has been ongoing since 2008. Students from all over Iceland attend the distance learning program. To jumpstart their studies they attend a session here in Ísafjörður where they get the opportunity to meet their teachers and fellow students face to face. The number of students has grown significantly since last year, with a total of 70 students attending the first term.

The next teaching session will be held in October.

Our community

"It is a delight to be here, utterly unique. The best thing about it is that I have no idea how to describe it to anyone once I leave - it defies easy description! I will encourage all faculty and students I know to come here to study and conduct their research."
Marc L. Miller CMM Instructor, Professor, Marine Affairs University of Washington, Seattle, USA
