This week the last three week module began in the Coastal and Marine Management Program with a course entitled On the Law of the Sea and the Environment. The eruption in Grímsvötn volcano interrupted the teaching plan slightly since one of the instructors was stuck in the Netherlands for a while. The course is taught by three different instructors, Pétur Dam Leifsson, Seniour Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Iceland, Helgi Áss Grétarsson, Research Scholar at the Law Institute of UI and Hrafnhildur Bragadóttir, lawyer at the Department for Legal and Administrative Affairs at the Environmental Agency of Iceland.

After this course most students will begin working full time on their master's project. Students are also offered to take an additional course, Tourism Policy and Planning in Coastal Areas, which will be taught from June 13 to July 1, by Marc L. Miller, professor at the University of Washington US. We are pleased to say that this is the third year that Professor Miller teaches this course at the University Centre.
