Getting from Reykjavík to Ísafjörður

1. Air travel: There are normally two scheduled flights daily from Reykjavík to Ísafjörður. They can be booked online at www.airiceland.is. Flights leave from Reykjavík domestic airport, not from Keflavík airport. You will save considerably by booking in advance. Once you arrive in Ísafjörður, you can take the FlyBus from the airport directly to your final destination in Ísafjörður town for ISK 500 in cash. The bus to Ísafjörður is at the airport in connection with every flight.

2. Chartered bus from Reykjavík BSÍ bus terminal to Ísafjörður: Registration is obligatory on the application form. Please note that we can only guarantee registered spaces. The price is ISK 9.000 one way, and is to be paid at the Ice Breaker event in Ísafjörður along with the course material fee (ISK 3.000). The bus will depart from the bus terminal in Reykjavik (BSÍ) at 9:00 (sharp) on Monday, August 5, 2012. Loading the bus will begin at 8:30. Registrations will depend on availability. A member of our staff will welcome you at BSÍ, accompany you on the trip, and point out the highlights on the 460-kilometer drive to Ísafjörður. This should be an unforgettable day, driving a route that few tourists in Iceland see.

3. Public bus in the summer: You can find the summer timetable on the website www.bsi.is. Please check timings before making plans. Note: Busses are not necessarily cheaper than flying.

4. Rent a car: There are number of car rentals in Reykjavík and then you can drive from Reykjavík to Ísafjörður. There are two road ways and the distance is about 460 km.

Please notify us of your means of travel on the application form.
