Silfurtorg the town square in Ísafjörður.
Friday and Sunday are dedicated to the visits of the sites of the Gísla Saga: Þingeyri with its viking-association and the viking boat made by Þingeyri craftsmen according to historical models. You will have time to walk around Sæból where Gísli lived in Haukadal and on Sunday there will be a day trip with a long hike to the remote Geirþjófsfjord, where Gísli hid for several years as an outlaw. There is lots of fresh air included in the regular programme already. If you had planned your own day trip, we would advise you to stay a little longer or arrive some days earlier. Your guesthouse will be flexible.

Our community

"Iceland is a place where the four elements seem to be engaged in a constant battle for dominance over the lives of its inhabitants. This provides an exciting, if sometimes demanding, backdrop to the CMM programme. It's hard to imagine an environment better suited to preparing students for the challenges of a career in natural resource management."

Alan Deverell, Great Britain, CMM student 2009-2010
