Icelandic Courses

The Westfjords are an especially exciting place to learn Icelandic.  This huge peninsula with its forty-nine deep fjords, remote from the rest of the country, preserves the old Iceland and the original Iceland.

This summer we offer a variety of Icelandic courses; three-week courses, one-week course, weekend courses and two courses in Gísla saga and classical Icelandic language taught both in English and German.

The University Centre of the Westfjords invites you to join in a friendly learning atmosphere where class work, group work, and fieldwork are combined. Our progressive teaching style follows modern trends.

We look forward to welcoming you to an inspiring Icelandic language and culture courses in the magnificent setting of the Westfjords!

"It is a delight to be here, utterly unique. The best thing about it is that I have no idea how to describe it to anyone once I leave - it defies easy description! I will encourage all faculty and students I know to come here to study and conduct their research."
