Description
The course will introduce different management approaches and policies from selected countries in fishery. Students will be able to describe the complex dynamics of fisheries and describe key themes in sustainable fisheries system from social, anthropological, and economic perspectives. Key components of the course include: community and social development, relationship between nationalistic attitudes and fisheries, legal aspects and rights, corporate social responsibility and community-based management. Students will look in greater details at specific resource management issues.
