16.00 Guðfinna Hreiðarsdóttir: "Happiness lives here." The Life and Poetry of Halla Eyjólfsdóttir (1866-1937)". Lecture accompanied by two songs, performed by Ingunn Ósk Sturludóttir.

 

16.30 Endnote.

 

18.00 - 20.00 Dinner at the maritime restaurant Tjöruhús, Ísafjörður. Dinner music performed a cappella by young female singers. There will be songs with lyrics by Halldór Laxness as well as some traditional Icelandic folk songs.

20.30 - 22.00 Evening concert in Hamrar, featuring music by Sigvaldi Kaldalóns, performed by Ingunn Ósk Sturludóttir, mezzosoprano and Eyjólfur Eyjólfsson, tenor, accompanied by pianist Ástríður Alda Sigurðardóttir.

 

Information, prices etc.
The symposium is free of charge to all participants.
All participants are welcome to have lunch as well as dinner together with the lecturers and performers, but please note that both meals are at your own expense.
Lunch: A light meal will be served at restaurant Við Pollinn at the Hótel Ísafjörður, 5 mins‘ walk from Hamrar.
Dinner: A seafood buffet will be served in the Tjöruhús restaurant in Ísafjörður (Westfjords Heritage Museum).
Evening Concert, entrance fee: ISK 1.500. Tickets will be sold at Hamrar.
